Rice Terrace at Tegalalang
A succession of cascading rice fields make up the Tegalalang Rice Terrace. The region, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is particularly well-liked at sunrise and dusk. Explore the terraces at your own pace, stop by the neighboring Bali Pulina plantation, and try the swings on the cliff's edge. Visit the fields in March, August, or September to see them at their greenest. They are also green in December and February, but because it has been raining, they are slick.
A tour of Ubud that also includes stops at the Monkey Forest, Tegenugan Waterfall, and Tirta Empul Temple frequently includes a stop at the rice terrace.
